Guide: Who Loves Oysters? How to Oyster Bar Crawl in Jersey City

Craving the salty brine of oysters? Well, you’ve come to the right city. Jersey City restaurants have some of the best surf and turf combinations in the east coast but where can one taste some of the best oysters in town?

Here is our quick guide to our Jersey City Oyster Crawl.

Hudson & Co.

How about an oyster feast with a view of the waterfront? At Hudson & Co. the views are absolutely stunning and the dishes can be made for shareability or traditional dining.

Order the Chilled East Coast and West Coast Oysters ($38) for a dozen of the most addictingly fresh oysters in the city.  Of course, if you want to go further, order those dozen oysters alongside salmon tartar, tuna tartar, jumbo shrimp and a whole Maine Lobster ($145).

The Hamilton Inn

Next, we’re making our way to 708 Jersey Ave. to make a splash at the Raw Bar at The Hamilton Inn. At The Hamilton, Blue Points ($3 each) oysters as well as Kumamotos ($4 each)are on tap alongside an exciting drink menu.

Of course, one can’t go wrong with the Spicy Tuna Tartare served with avocado and crispy wontons in a sesame-soy ($18).

Fire & Oak – Jersey City

Lastly, we have another local favorite. At Fire & Oak, 479 Washington Boulevard,  east and west coast oysters are shucked to order throughout the day at $2.75 each. The oysters are, of course, absolutely delicious, especially paired with a side of Grilled Spanish Octopus in santorini fava dip.
