Liberty State Park, Van Vorst and Newport Green Park: Picnicking in the Parks of Jersey City

When the weather is extra nice and you want to soak it all in, remember, Jersey City is an exceptionally great city for picnicking. From Liberty State Park, to Hamilton and Newport Green Park, the options are endless. To help get you started, here are a few of our favorite places to picnic in Jersey City.

Newport Green Park

While Liberty State Park may be the most popular park in Jersey City, there’s no doubt that for kids, Newport Green Park is absolutely the coolest. Featuring modern playground equipment that will keep the kids entertained until they drop, there’s also a splash park and, yes, even a man made beach set against the waterfront of the city. It’s an experience all on its own. Learn more about Newport Green Park.

Liberty State Park

Host to some of the largest gatherings in the state, Liberty State Park is also one of the most popular parks in Jersey City. But even while you’re likely to see a lot of faces here, there are plenty of quiet places where you and your friends can enjoy a few hours with a view of Manhattan.
